A P.S. to the last “Note from Sue”

In my last note, I talked about having "JLARC" do the review on the federal funding changes and impacts on HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment services in Virginia. (Budge Item 11 #1s)

In case you're wondering, "What is JLARC, exactly …"

That stands for "Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission" (It's JLARC, for short –and pronounced "Jay Lark".)

It is a body of the General Assembly that performs independent reviews and studies, generally at the request of the General Assembly.
If you'd like to look at what JLARC does, the website address is www.jlarc.state.va.us.

A number of the Budget Conferees are also members of JLARC, and they will be very familiar with you simply saying / writing "JLARC".

Thanks again for making your calls AND sending your faxes to the Budget Conferees. Your notes will be important as these gentlemen make decisions in the next few days on how Virginia's state funds will be spent.
