General Assembly Reports on Budget – UPDATED May 23rd

Today, the Senate is proposing another form of the 2006-2008 biennial budget, and it INCLUDES the same recommendation approved by the Senate in February — $300,000 in each year of the budget to “Establish State Pharmaceutical Assistance Program (SPAP) for HIV recipients”.

The HOUSE did NOT make the same recommendation in February — nor in their last approved budget.

We are STILL in need of the Budget Conferees to talk about this difference, and of course, we would like that group of legislators to keep the Senate recommendation in the final budget.

Your SENATOR and DELEGATE need to hear from you — Only you can tell them just how important this small allocation can be for people living with HIV/AIDS in our state.

Clikc “Elected Officials” to get contact information about your legislators, and please — email, call, or fax today.

Thank you.
Sue
