Governor-Elect Kaine’s Transportation Town Hall Meetings

Good Monday Evening!

Often we hear “Transportation Services” when we are together in groups talking about the needs of persons living with HIV/AIDS.

Well — Governor-Elect Time Kaine is launching a series of meetings to hear from YOU — about transportation.

He could, and should, hear comments about the issues facing persons with chronic diseases (such as HIV/AIDS) who have difficulty not only getting to work but also in getting to health care services due to limitations on transportation services.

These town hall meetings are perfectly appropriate places in which these issues could be raised — and let me be one to encourage you to talk about whatever “transportation” issues are important to you.

The Governor-elect has extended the invitation for any of us to talk with him about these issues.
Now, we must just accept it.

If this is of interest to you … Please, read on below.

Thanks!
Sue

P.S. When we hear the places for the later meetings, we’ll post that information on the VORAonline.org website — or also visit www.GovElect.Virginia.gov

Governor-Elect Tim Kaine Launches
“Moving Virginia Forward” Transportation Town HallTour

Richmond – Making good on a campaign promise, Governor-Elect Tim Kaine will begin his “Moving Virginia Forward” transportation town hall tour in Roanoke on Wednesday, November 16. Over the next eight weeks, Kaine will travel around the state, holding meetings with transportation experts, elected officials, business men and women, and citizens to begin addressing the transportation challenges facing the commonwealth.

“Solving Virginia’s transportation crisis is the most urgent issue facing my administration, and I am getting started on it right away,” Kaine said, pledging to bring all of the stakeholders to the table to build a bipartisan coalition of support for his transportation plan. “We must ensure that taxpayer dollars marked for transportation are only used for transportation, and we must better connect land use and transportation planning. Without taking these first crucial steps, we cannot moveVirginia forward on transportation.”
