“Faces of AIDS”

Glaxo Smith Kline and VORA worked together on Monday, December 12th to create a "Faces of AIDS" brochure. There were five volunteers who were photographed for this campaign that will be used for education and advocacy efforts across the state. Glaxo Smith Kline wants to do this for every state and Virginia joins about 10 other states who have created a similar brochure. In using people infected with AIDS and their stories, this campaign gives a real view of what living with HIV/AIDS is like and helps break down barriers of what the face of AIDS looks like.

The brochure should be ready for distribution by late January. Please contact Kristy Snowden at ksnowden@voraonline.org if you would like to receive brochures.

Thank you to our wonderful volunteer models, Glaxo Smith Kline, and the Northern Virginia Regional Commission for helping make the photo shoot possible.
